NOVEMBER 23, 1999: THIRD EYE BLIND’S SOPHOMORE ALBUM, BLUE
Third Eye Blind‘s sophomore album Blue moved away from the debut’s pure pop-rock sound, opting for a more experimental and harder-edged alternative rock feel. Despite internal band tensions during its recording and a minor controversy surrounding the track “Slow Motion,” the album achieved platinum status and spawned hits like “Never Let You Go” and “Deep Inside of You.”
NOVEMBER 24, 1998: METALLICA RELEASES GARAGE, INC.
Metallica followed up Load and Reload with Garage, Inc; a double album set of covers.
Disc 1 featured covers of Black Sabbath, Bob Seger, BÖC and others. Disc 2 focused on the band’s earliest influences.
Metallica won a Grammy for their cover of the traditional Irish song, “Whiskey in the Jar”, popularized by Thin Lizzy.
NOVEMBER 28, 2020: AC/DC’s POWER UP IS #1
With the return of vocalist Brian Johnson, AC/DC released their highly anticipated 17th album, Power Up.
Power Up went to #1 in many nations all over the world, including the United States.
NOVEMBER 29, 1988: GUN N’ ROSES RELEASE GN’R LIES
Guns N’ Roses‘ second album, GN’R Lies is comprised of previously released “faux-live” tracks on side one, and acoustic songs on side two.
Containing the top 5 single “Patience”, the album peaked at #2 in the US and sold over 5 million copies.
